Ultimately, by delivering our smoke-free and beyond nicotine future.Your ‘day to day’As a Manager M&A and Business Development, within PMI’s M&A and Business development Team, you will lead end-to-end corporate development initiatives - across M&A, carve-out / divestment, corporate venture capital, strategic partnerships, licensing - to drive the realization and acceleration of PMI’s strategic priorities in our key focus areas: Smoke-Free Products - Inhalable & Oral, Consumer Wellness, Future-Ready Capabilities and Impact Investing. You will drive deal sourcing, evaluation, and execution, while helping to shape investment strategy and support the growth of portfolio companies.More specifically, you'll

For Deal Sourcing activities, build and expand high-quality deal pipeline, including with senior bankers, industry specialists, and key ecosystem players. Develop a deep understanding on market dynamics, emerging opportunities across our key focus areas.
In the Pre-Deal & Screening area, scrutinize investment ideas and build fit-for-purpose deal structure. Develop an internal network to validate your own investment ideas and structure with specialists, and excel in presenting investment proposals towards internal teams and Investment Committee.
Build financial models, valuations and business case with cross-functional teams to support value creation.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional due diligence processes from start to finish.
Structure deal terms and negotiate agreements in close collaboration with our legal team.
For Post-Deal activities, provide input on key topics to help unlock value in our own portfolio companies. Set joint goals, objectives, and then monitor the overall development of the company. Support development & execution of 100-day plan.

Who we’re looking for

Master Degree in science or technology (finance, engineering), MBA, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 10 years’ professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years in an investment firm, private equity, or venture capital outfit.
Sound Financial modelling skills to quantify and project economic scenarios.
Demonstrated project-management skills and/or experience in corporate strategy projects.
Strong ability to identify and engage with network of investors/financial institutions to further enhance origination and sourcing of opportunities.
Sound expertise in successfully leading venture capital/private equity/M&A transactions.
Analytical capabilities to evaluate and quickly understand value drivers/risks. Problem-solving skills. Ability to simplify and communicate complex information, propose alternative investment structures and partnership models, as well as develop investment hypotheses and case grounded in deep understanding of PMI’s business and strategies.
Resilience and hands-on mindset.
Expertise in leading and developing individuals/teams.
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
