In addition to performing a high-quality monthly closing and fiscal reporting for direct and indirect taxes, the team is also responsible for project managing the dynamic landscape involving new reporting requirements, process improvements and system changes. For statutory compliance, the team successfully leads the financial statement audits for nearly 30 legal entities. We work closely with many Finance teams, including FP&A, Sales Audit, Treasury, Inventory Control, but also Payroll, Legal, IT and many business partners to achieve our common goals.Who You Are:You are hands-on, detailed-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about accounting. You have outstanding communication skills, can effectively liaise with colleagues and other teams, and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.You are highly organized, keen-learner and self-motivated, able to work well to deadlines and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.What You’ll Do:The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and report on all accounting flows for the European subsidiaries. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Accounting. The role involves managing day-to-day financial accounting operations, as well as maintaining and reconciling the general ledger. The role includes month-end closing activities and preparation of financial statements in line with the Group Accounting Manual (US GAAP Principles) and Local Statutory Requirements.
  • Performing daily accounting operations for local and Group (US GAAP consolidated) reporting
  • Managing data and journal entries for the Accounting System (JDE) and acting as one of the main points of contact for all related accounting queries for specific legal entities
  • Preparing and entering general ledger transactions – e.g. banks, payroll, accruals, prepayments - and preparing account reconciliations
  • Support in preparation and submission of VAT/Intrastat returns and related fiscal compliance activities
  • Preparing supporting documentation and managing deliverables for statutory financial statements and tax returns, including liaising with external consultants - auditors, tax advisors and legal advisors
  • Supporting intercompany reporting through invoice issuance and preparing reconciliations
  • Performing ad hoc assignments and project coordination as required
You’ll Need to Have:
  • Languages: Fluent English + European languages is a plus
  • Previous experience in a “Big Four” is a plus - specific accounting certifications preferred
  • At least 5 years post qualification accounting experience in practice or industry
  • Experience of “Sarbanes – Oxley” Act and US GAAP is a plus
  • Experience with SAP is a plus; Proficient in Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact multi-culturally
  • Professional attitude, structured approach, highly organized and able to work independently; ability to demonstrate business judgment
