- Direct supplier qualification process including evaluation of supplier capabilities.
- Conduct quality management system and manufacturing process audits, including special processes (e.g. casting, surface treatment).
- Lead qualification of new parts and products at suppliers.
- Define and align PPAP requirements in cooperation with R&D and ensure successful PPAP approval prior to serial production.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI), second source qualification and cost-out initiatives to ensure supplier quality readiness according to project milestones.
- Collaborate with internal Quality and Incoming Inspection teams to establish appropriate incoming inspection plans for serial production.
- Manage nonconformities related to assigned suppliers, ensuring timely containment actions. Require and review robust root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action plans from suppliers, challenging their effectiveness where necessary. Validate the adequacy and sustainability of corrective and preventive actions, and provide technical support in joint problem-solving activities when required.
- Monitor supplier quality KPIs and initiate targeted improvement initiatives at suppliers and internally as required to prevent recurring issues and ensure stable serial production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Significant experience in a supplier quality management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Fluent in German and professional working proficiency in English is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Good understanding and practical application of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan and related quality tools.
- Experience in conducting supplier audits, including quality system audits and manufacturing process audits; certification as a Quality or Process Auditor (especially for manufacturing and/or special processes) is an advantage.
- Experience with statistical process control and data analysis (e.g. MathLab).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including structured root cause analysis (e.g. 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa).
- Proficiency in quality management software (SAP Q-Module) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel (20-30%) as needed to visit suppliers in different geographies (domestic and international). Please apply only if you meet the international travel and visa requirements associated with this role.
