Job DescriptionIntroductionYou will be part of the Experimental Physics (EP) Department which carries out . This Department aims to provide a stimulating scientific atmosphere and remains an important reference centre for the European physics community. It contributes to the education and training of young scientists.Functions
  • Take a leading role in all aspects of particle physics experiments, including the conception and design of experiments, the building and operation of detectors and the analysis of data.
  • Coordinate or make important contributions to studies, projects or committee work.
  • Represent the Organization at conferences, workshops, or in other research laboratories and institutions.
  • Supervise research and development work, and planning and managing activities including material and personnel resources.
QualificationsPhD or equivalent relevant experience in the field of particle physics or a related field.Experience:
  • You have an established record of post-doctoral experience and have completed high-impact work in experimental particle physics research.
  • Experience in data analysis and in the use of on-line / off-line software.
  • Demonstrated competence in detector hardware and experimental instrumentation.
  • Capacity for innovation and potential for making a significant contribution to the scientific programme of the Organization.
  • PhD in the field of particle physics or a related field.
Technical competencies:
  • Analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
  • Knowledge and application of physics reconstruction techniques.
  • Simulation, design and development of physics experiments.
  • Operation of experiments.
Behavioural competencies:

  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays.
