- Transaction Support: Guide global ART LoB business units in negotiating and executing (re-)insurance transactions and producer arrangements, focusing on European and international markets, while managing legal aspects, including external counsel coordination and dispute resolution.
- Documentation Alignment: Collaborate with the Deal Modeler to ensure transaction documentation aligns with modeled structures, such as Inner Aggregate Deductibles and Experience Account Balances.
- Distribution Leadership: Assume global responsibility for distribution, market conduct, and management of distribution partners, ensuring regulatory compliance and signing off on all global distribution agreements.
- Governance & Best Practices: Support and enhance underwriting governance, conduct legal reviews and sign-offs, contribute to best practice standards, and provide training and functional guidance to management and business teams.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Regularly collaborate with AGCS Legal & Compliance teams across Germany, France, and Italy, maintain a network within Allianz Group counsel and industry peers, and ensure knowledge transfer within ART LoB and AGCS Legal Group.
- Coaching & Leadership: Participate in underwriting committees, coach the underwriting community, and set a positive example of sound business judgment and corporate behavior.
- Advanced Legal and Transactional Knowledge: High-level expertise in alternative risk transfer transactions (insurance and reinsurance), including cross-border regulatory matters, structuring, negotiating, executing complex transactions, and managing litigation.
- Qualified as a lawyer in Germany, Switzerland or Austria.
- Corporate, Regulatory, and Compliance Expertise: In-depth understanding of corporate, regulatory, and compliance landscapes impacting ART LoB, with a focus on EEA jurisdictions, and the role of the ART Legal Team in risk management as a control function.
- Extensive Experience: Over 15 years in financial services as in-house counsel or law firm professional, with advanced skills in corporate, regulatory, and transactional support.
- Collaborative and Cross-Cultural Skills: Proven ability to work in cross-location, cross-cultural teams with strong client orientation and a high-performance mindset, fostering collaboration and management skills.
- Analytical and Communication Strengths: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to address complex, multi-jurisdictional issues and interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties (e.g., regulators).
- Professional and Business Acumen: Demonstrable ownership, independent judgment, technical expertise, and solid understanding of finance and financing structures; law degree with preference for bar admission
- AI: The ability to ensure ethical AI practices and stay updated with emerging AI technologies will be key to maintaining a competitive advantage.
