They have extensive experience investing in a wide range of industries, geographies and market environments.RoleThe Analyst will be working together with existing members of the team, on idea evaluation, targeted research projects, and position maintenance. In general, the analyst will work to develop a deep understanding of businesses, industries and management teams as part of an extremely deep and detailed investment process. The Analyst will support the firm's significant primary research efforts, which include identifying research contacts, interviewing industry experts, and attending trade shows and other industry conferences. The work also includes extensive desktop research and reading and in-depth, creative analyses, often employing inputs from a wide variety of sources (market data, economic data, financial disclosure, primary research, historical analogues). The Analyst will have and will further develop skills in business analysis, management assessment, financial analysis and valuation, investment psychology and investment pattern recognition.Ideal CandidateExperience level
One to a maximum of four years of professional experience.
A professional background in management consulting, investment banking, private equity or principal investing. Top-tier prior training is a requirement.
Prerequisite skills
Business analysis skills: basic ability to understand and evaluate competitive dynamics, barriers to entry, and the key drivers of a business.
Financial analysis skills: basic understanding of accounting, including the ability to read and interpret financial statements; understanding of the concept of compounding and internal rate of return.
Experience gathering and analysing data from a variety of sources.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to summarize in-depth analysis into key takeaways in verbal and written formats.
Proficiency with business productivity tools.
