  • Lead and oversee the strategic integration of the Performing Arts department at La Châtaigneraie Primary to develop an outstanding approach to teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Develop, coordinate and manage the Performing Arts curriculum, ensuring alignment with school goals and standards.
  • Mentor and support teachers within the department
  • Foster cross-curricular collaborations to integrate performing arts with other subject areas.
  • Strengthen partnerships between the La Châtaigneraie primary and secondary schools to secure alignment and continuity in the curriculum.
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and sustainably.
  • Develop and maintain lines of communication with class teachers and the learning support department to ensure that students' learning and language needs are met within the context of Performing Arts lessons.
  • Promote peer to peer observations within and across departments
  • Ensure that the department follows policies and protocols outlined by school leadership
  • Run regular departmental meetings.
Candidate must:
  • Be currently employed at La Châtaigneraie Primary
  • Have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Be digitally literate, with effective use of Google tools to support both administrative tasks and teaching practices, and willing to work towards Google Certified Educator Level 1 within the first year of employment.
  • Fluency in either English or French (spoken and written), with a high level of proficiency in the other language, and a willingness to work towards achieving B2 certification within two years of employment.
