- Establish a clear long term digital and AI vision for R&D, aligned with enterprise level digital and AI ambitions.
- Find opportunities where digital, data, and AI can significantly improve/reimagine scientific workflows, development process, decision making, productivity, and quality.
- Translate strategy into a prioritized roadmap with tangible value outcomes.
- Continuously scan emerging technologies and industry trends to update R&D’s strategic direction.
- Lead the portfolio of digital projects and products across R&D—including traditional digital tools, workflow systems, automation, and AI solutions.
- Ensure project prioritization using transparent criteria (value, impact, feasibility, regulatory, change readiness).
- Monitor execution, resolve risks, and ensure expected benefits are delivered.
- Define and track critical metrics (e.g., adoption, business value, user satisfaction, productivity gains).
- Partner closely with R&D leadership to align strategy with scientific and operational needs.
- Collaborate with IT/Tech, Data & Analytics, and AI teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Lead governance forums for the digital portfolio and ensure compliance with data, privacy, and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate cross functional alignment and communication of digital initiatives.
- Promote digital culture and user centric design within R&D.
- Work with the functional teams to embed new digital behaviors and ensure adoption.
- Define training, communication, and partner with capability building team to define upskilling programs for digital and AI literacy.
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Data Science.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in digital strategy, digital transformation, AI strategy or technology product management, in R&D heavy industries / consumer goods, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemicals, engineering, medical technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML use cases and digital platforms applicable to scientific or technical environments.
- Demonstrated experience in portfolio management of digital programs.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of regulated environments (GxP, data governance, cybersecurity) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with scientific informatics, LIMS, ELN, workflow automation, or experimentation platforms.
