We are currently seeking an experienced Data Architect to join a leading technology company based in the Bern area. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid work model, combining the flexibility of remote work with on-site collaboration. As a key member of the data and analytics team, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's data strategy, architecture, and infrastructure to support business growth and innovation.Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, design, and management of the data architecture for space programs
Develop scalable models and structures to store and access large volumes of mission-critical data
Integrate diverse data sources and implement robust interfaces
Manage data across its entire lifecycle, from acquisition to archiving
Ensure data quality and adherence to relevant security and compliance standards
Implement systems for efficient data processing, transformation, and analysis
Design data infrastructure that scales with future demands and growing data volumes
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data systems
Define and enforce access control policies to protect data integrity and prevent misuse
Collaborate actively with system and enterprise architects to align data architecture with overall system goals
Qualifications & Skills:
Degree in computer science, data science, or a related technical field
Several years of hands-on experience in data architecture, data engineering, and/or data management
Industry experience in space systems and familiarity with DevOps or DevSecOps environments
Strong hands-on mindset, excellent self-management, and proactive approach to complex challenges
Ability to think in systems and processes with a structured, solution-oriented mindset
Strong communication skills and experience in stakeholder engagement
Valid EU or Swiss work permit with no entries in public registers (mandatory due to security clearance requirements)
Business fluency in English, German language skills are a plus
