Head of Patents and IP

• As Global IP Manager, you are responsible for the definition and implementation of VAT's global IP strategy in line with our business and innovation strategy. You manage our patent portfolio through the whole lifecycle and execute our systematic monitoring and evaluation of competitors' patents with respect to market trends and identification of potentially infringing third-party products.
• In your daily work, you collaborate closely with our innovation teams, help defining relevant inventions, prepare and file individual patents with our patent attorneys.
• In addition, you evaluate existing IP literature for new technologies and support to define the patent strategy for new, adjacent product developments in close collaboration with the R&D and market teams. You will develop new and more effective methods to search, review and analyze relevant patents.
• To fulfill your tasks you will organize workshops and connect our patent attorneys with internal people.

• Degree in engineering (mechanical, software, electrical engineering) or a related discipline.
• Experience as a patent manager in a company producing mechanical and mechatronic components or equipment, ideally in the vacuum or semiconductor industry.
• You are very familiar with patents and patent analysis/search tools and have strong problem solving skills.
• Motivated to work in a fast growing, dynamic and international environment.
• Ideally, you have already demonstrated your leadership skills in managing complex projects.
• English speaker, any other language is advantageous.
