This is a great opportunity for technical experts that want to develop into strategic patent management and work on the forefront of VAT's innovation projects. You will collaborate closely with two additional peers, as well as maintain strong cooperation with our Technical Business Units. Our goal is to protect, manage, and maximize the value of the company's inventions and technical innovations.   • As IP Manager, you are responsible for implementation of VAT's global IP strategy in line with our business and innovation strategy.
  • In your daily work, you collaborate closely with our innovation teams, help defining relevant inventions, prepare and file individual patents with our patent attorneys.
  • In addition, you evaluate existing IP literature for new technologies and support to define the patent strategy for new, adjacent product developments in close collaboration with the R&D and market teams.
  • You will develop new and more effective methods to search, review and analyze relevant patents.
  • To fulfill your tasks, you will organize workshops and connect our patent attorneys with internal people.
  • We do offer continuous development opportunities in-line with the requirements of the IP Manager role and beyond.
YOUR COMPETENCIES
  • Degree in science or engineering (mechanical, software, electrical engineering) or a related discipline.
  • High interest in patents and IP law.
  • Ability to understand the individual protection strategies of existing IP and scoping of new ideas into new, strong patents to protect our future business.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Motivated to work in a fast growing, dynamic and international environment in the heart of project teams.
  • English speaker, any other language is advantageous
