- Contribute to the operation of the Polymer Laboratory by manufacturing key components for the CERN accelerator complex and experiments, and supporting on-site interventions for troubleshooting and repair of complex systems.
- Participate in the construction of superconducting magnets, including the operation and maintenance of polymer processing equipment such as vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) systems.
- Support the development, characterisation, and testing of polymer materials and composite solutions for a wide range of applications, including the fabrication of mock-ups and prototypes.
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing procedures and work instructions to ensure high standards of quality and traceability in production processes.
- Handle the procurement of materials and tooling for the Polymer Laboratory, and maintain the chemical inventory in compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Hands-on experience in polymers and composites processing, including bonding and gluing techniques.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of electromechanical equipment used in resin transfer or similar processes.
- Ability to develop and adapt manufacturing techniques, tooling, and mock-ups for first-of-a-kind applications.
- Experience in producing and updating technical documentation.
- Construction and assembly of mechanical and hydraulic systems will be an asset.
- Proficiency with mechanical workshop tools and conventional (non-CNC) machining techniques will be an asset.
- Experience in procurement follow-up and inventory management (components, tooling, spare parts) will be an asset.
- Knowledge and application of manufacturing methods and work preparation, including inventory and procurement follow-up of components and tooling, QA/QC and related procedures.
- Operation and maintenance of electromechanical equipment and systems.
- Manufacturing of mechanical parts using conventional machining tools.
- Knowledge, application and processing techniques of polymers and composites.
