Generali Investments Switzerland Ltd (GIS) is part of the Generali Investments platform. Leveraging on the solid expertise in managing the provident funds of Generali Switzerland, thanks to its in-depth understanding of insurance companies’ liability constraints and its effective risk management approach, GIS will strategically contribute to the growth of the Generali Investments platform.GIS is seeking a highly capable, forward‑thinking Head of Finance to lead its Finance function as part of a planned leadership succession. This strategic role oversees the organization’s financial management, shaping its financial framework, enhancing process excellence, and driving long-term value creation. The position combines strategic oversight with operational leadership across core finance areas including financial planning and analysis, accounting and controlling, and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial processes, high quality insights for decision-making, and full compliance with internal and external standards. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and key business functions to support strategic initiatives, optimize financial performance, and contribute to the company’s long-term growth ambitions. Lead the GIS Finance function and its team, ensuring full ownership of local Finance activities while applying Generali Investments Finance principles and methodologies proportionally to GIS’s size, complexity and regulatory environment.
Oversee all central Finance processes, including accounting, statutory reporting (Swiss GAAP OR), planning and controlling, budgeting, management reporting and regulatory reporting (FINMA).
Ensure timely, accurate and high-quality statutory financial statements and prepare IFRS reporting packages in alignment with Group accounting policies and Integrated Reporting requirements.
Lead financial planning and performance management activities, monitoring results and providing clear insights to support business decisions
Ensure full compliance with Swiss tax obligations, coordinating with relevant stakeholders where required.
Manage local liquidity planning and banking relationships, ensuring sound day-to-day financial operations.
Oversee internal controls, Finance processes and financial data quality, ensuring a robust and reliable control environment.
Further develop and optimize finance, governance and reporting processes and systems in collaboration with GIH, Generali Switzerland and external service providers.
Contribute to cross‑functional and company‑wide projects, supporting GIS’s strategic initiatives and continuous improvement agenda.

Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

University or similar degree with a focus on Finance, or equivalent qualification
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Finance
Proven experience in the financial industry, in international corporate environments or FINMA regulated contexts
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Finance and Accounting, including book closing under Swiss law (OR) and IFRS
Strong expertise in strategic planning, controlling, and reporting
Proven track record in managing and implementing interdisciplinary financial projects
Experience in the fund industry, asset management, and common financial products is an advantage
IT skills, especially data management, MS Office, accounting tools (SAP) and reporting tools (eg: PowerBI)
Excellent command of English and German; Italian is a plus
High level of initiative, hands-on mentality, assertiveness, empathy, and strong team orientation
