Its innovative and reliable solutions have been part of more than 1,600 reference projects worldwide.www.hz-inova.com.Job DescriptionThe overall target of the position:The Proposal Manager will partner closely with the Sales Manager and the Contract Manager Sales as a ready and capable contributor to all areas of the company by executing tender projects. The Proposal Manager will be expected to have a total grasp of the business and will play a critical role in Business Development. As a member of the tender team, the Proposal Manager will lead the technical proposal preparation and be responsible for continuous coordination, monitoring, and management of the proposal projects in respect of scheduling, economic, qualitative, and technical objectives. The Proposal Manger will collaborate with all designated stakeholders according to the business process.Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Management lead of the proposal project and responsible for coordination of the technical related issues involving layout arrangement, scheduling, guarantees and deviations with engineering and expert groups
  • Professional examination of specifications / request for quotations
  • Lead in developing and freezing of the technical plant concepts in collaboration with the internal expert groups and externally with clients, consultants, partners, and suppliers
  • Optimisation of the investment and operating costs of the plant according to the market conditions, specification requests and practicability
  • Constitute the initial project execution strategy together with the Sales Manager and Management
  • Responsible to get aligned the internal interfaces including across global HZI-Branch Offices and external interfaces with partners and clients
  • Responsible to get the internal cost estimation arranged on time including reviews and approval
  • Establishment and management of the technical proposal documentation in collaboration with internal expert groups and external partners
  • Preparation and negotiation of technical contract parts with partner (consortium agreement) and clients
  • Preparation of and giving project presentations externally to clients, partners, together with the Sales Manager and internally to Management, Stakeholders and Working groups
  • Collaboration with Project Execution prior to contract signature followed by handover of the project
  • Cooperation with Project Development, O&M and Product Development
  • Continuous tender cost control
Qualifications
  • Project management experience as project leader in plant construction projects and knowledge of established project management methods
  • Good knowledge of process engineering processes, and of the interrelation between the systems
  • Good product knowledge of EfW Technology, knowledge of RG Technology advantageous
  • Site experience (erection or commissioning function) preferable
  • Knowledge and understanding of contract law for international plant construction
  • High customer focus and entrepreneurial and innovative mind-set involving a high level of personal initiative
  • Intercultural competence: ability to function effectively across cultures, to think and act appropriately
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English; German and additional languages are beneficial
  • Integrative thinking abilities and ability to apply ambitious methods in order to manage complex and challenging circumstances and to achieve the best outcome
  • Effective and proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective time management and organisational skills including very good prioritisation ability
  • Project leading competence carrying project ownership, acting proactively and capable of team building and motivation
  • Facilitation and negotiation skills paired with sound knowledge of conversational techniques
  • Presentation skills with the ability to communicate in a convincing, comprehensive, and audience-oriented manner
