Role OverviewThe Market Analyst is responsible for the collection, processing, maintenance, reporting and analysis of BI data in Holcim Trading.This role is a 10 months fixed term contract.Key Responsibilities1. Data ManagementRead, screen, analyze raw data coming from various sources on a day to day basis, either quantitative data or qualitativeConduct relevant research using various sources, from electronic database, websites, and other published sources, using sophisticated search engines, query tools, and other web technologiesSet up/maintain/improve our commodities databases, statistics and related newsImprove and digitize data collection, processing and management processesSupport the implementation of new digital data management and reporting tools2. Reporting and AnalysisRegular and proactive communication with trading teams in order to validate and exchange informationVisualize data (Powerpoint, Excel, Looker, Power BI, other visualization tools), and create relevant reports on countries / competitors / other relevant topicsPrepare market reports, analysis, or dashboards to support the trading teams on their strategic initiativesRequired QualificationsAt least 1-2 years of relevant experience in data analytics, market analysis, strategy, or similar areaPrevious experience in corporate environmentPrevious experience in seaborne logistics, data warehouse, trading or shipping market analysis will be a definite plusRequired QualificationsAt least 1-2 years of relevant experience in data analytics, market analysis, strategy, or similar areaPrevious experience in corporate environmentPrevious experience in seaborne logistics, data warehouse, trading or shipping market analysis will be a definite plusKnowledge & SkillsA strong mastery of Excel (Pivot table, Power Query, Macros, ...). Mastery of PowerPointFamiliar with business analytics tools (i.e. Looker Studio, Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)Strong attention to detailsStrong analytical and synthetic skills, ability to critical thinkingAbility to synthesize information and data into polished presentationsResults-oriented with the ability to manage priorities independently while maintaining a strong collaborative spiritMindset to challenge the status quo, improvement mindsetCapacity to work cross cultural borders where stakeholders reside in multi locations, at different level within the organizationEducation/ QualificationBachelor's degree/master's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Data Analytics, or similar fieldExperience with database tools and other applications for statistical analysis is a plusLanguages:
  • Excellent English, written and spoken
