The day-to-day
- You'll oversee all product assurance aspects throughout the satellite's lifecycle, including reviewing hardware and software design requirements, integration, and testing.
- Develop and implement comprehensive product assurance plans and procedures. These plans will align with customer requirements and industry standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Define and document quality assurance strategies tailored to specific mission types, ensuring compliance with space standards such as ECSS.
- Work closely with internal teams (engineering, manufacturing) and external stakeholders (customers, partners, suppliers) to apply appropriate product assurance rigor and meet all requirements.
- Oversee and approve the selection and procurement of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts, as well as the selection and qualification of materials and processes (M&P).
- Manage and participate in various quality assurance activities, including reviews (internal, customer, partner), inspections, and managing end-item data.
- Support bid efforts by reviewing, defining, and documenting product assurance requirements.
- Oversee, approve, onboard, and monitor suppliers throughout the product lifecycle. This includes ensuring quality requirements are flowed down and verified for compliance.
- Support risk management and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Manage changes, deviations, and conduct impact analyses throughout projects.
- Lead root cause analysis for product or process discrepancies and develop effective corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain quality records to ensure full traceability and accountability.
- Support new product introduction, manufacturing, product acceptance, and delivery processes.
- Participate in various audits, including internal, external, customer, and supplier audits.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent (electronics, aerospace, mechanical/materials).
- Familiarity with and able to audit to AS9100, ISO 9001, and ECSS standards (or equivalents).
- 5 or more years of experience in product assurance of space projects working with other space customers, ESA, UKSA.
- Experience working with and managing partners or vendors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing workload and tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- 10%-15% of travel expected.
