- This is a “deputy” role within a small Finance team, being the most senior team member (director level) under the Head of Finance. The team is managing a portfolio of products, of which some important deliverables:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A),
- Regulatory Reporting to SNB
- Tax and VAT compliance/reporting
- Swiss GAAP Financial Statements and input for Group Reporting under IFRS
- Finance is going through a rationalisation/optimisation of its processes and product portfolio. System investments and the adaptation of data/reporting tools are key pillars of improving/expanding its product portfolio
- The Financial Controller will be responsible for executing and overseeing financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making processes
- The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance, audit, or a related field, coupled with extensive knowledge of financial reporting requirements specific to the banking sector, and excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
- The Financial Controller will be expected to play an active role on day-to-day operations and projects in the following areas:
- Manage and oversee the financial reporting function for the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of audits and financial reviews
- Monitor and analyse financial data, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement financial reporting processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations relevant to the banking industry, ensuring compliance and timely implementation of new requirements
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management based on analysis of financial data and performance indicators
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support change/transformation initiatives, such as product setups, and financial planning
- FP&A: Participate closely in the preparation of financial budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree and/or a professional certification (e.g., a Qualified Accountant/Chartered Accountant) is highly desirable
- Proven experience as a senior finance professional in a similar financial reporting role within the banking industry
- Prior experience working with Avaloq is considered advantageous
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and regulatory requirements specific to the banking sector. In particular on the practical interpretation of the policies
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in financial software and MS Excel. Knowledge of Avaloq, WKFS/FIRE
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Conceptual knowledge of Risk Management activities and managing Financial Reporting Risk (Internal Control System)
- Affinity with project management methods and openness to change/transformation
- Experience working in an international organisation and interacting with colleagues from different cultures
